I don't want people to be able to use google's search engine because it can return xrated pictures and that's unwanted. I blocked access to google but AOL's search engine is "google powered" so it seems like it returns google results. Can I block that without blocking AOL all together?

      Thanks in advance …

From the Squid Guard \ Common ACL tab you can enable "Use SafeSearch engine" this may help you with your adult content issue.

The thing is google doesn't get blocked. It has something to do with HTTPS or something. Bing get's blocked as do other search engines but not google and apparently AOL.

Unless you wanted to block all SSL you might be able to get away with a rewrite with Squid Guard that would send someone going to https://www.google.com to non ssl http://www.google.com

To block the pics load this list in squidguard http://urlblacklist.com/?sec=download

And to have ssl filtering follow this https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=73640.0

              Hope this helps
