Holes in RRD graphs. Undersized hardware?

I got a few 500MHz running, nanobsd 512Mb. 2.0.1-RELEASE (i386), FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p6. All is default settings.
One of them is under quite a bit of load.
States right after reboot: 7078/23000Now I get a symptom that RRD graphs may have holes in them… I guess it must be due to undersized hardware. Screenshot is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1411299/reboot_pfsense.png. Trafic has been in/out all the time, so no router crash. Just a temporary stop in logging data for the graphs.
Is this a sign of undersized hardware?
If so what should be increased of the hardware to (processor, RAM, other). I typically buy routers at applianceshop. -
I don't think 7000/20000 is that bad.

I believe that the graphs are a low priority and the device could be busy with something else causing it to not log data, usually that's the case when you have gaps in the graphs that i have seen, similar to when pfsense ignores pings when coming from a vpn.
What are you running service wise?

Anything related in the system log? My first guess with those symptoms would be running short on RAM and there's no swap w/nano so the RRD gathering process would just have to die in that case.

More RAM is what is (probably) what is needed.I am not to sure what to look for in the logs.
But I can say that even though they do not log graphs from time to time then these boxes run dead stable.
