    USB flash boot hangs

      I tried installing pfsense on my 2gb USB 2.0 flash drive with and without packet mode and with and without a swap partition.
      Whatever I try, the system hangs at the initial boot screen where it has "F1: FreeBSD, Default: F1". My system will beep every minute and doesn't respond to my inputs except for alt-ctrl-del to restart it.

      What am I doing wrong? It looks like the motherboard is booting from the USB, but it hangs on that screen.
