Limit per range and per ip
-
Hi, i want to limit the bandwidth of a network (192.168.1.0/24) in a way the the entire network have 2Mbps for download, but each ip only have 512Kbps for download. Is that possible with pfsense 2.0? I already can limit 2Mbps per network (Firewall :Traffic Shapper : Limiter: Bandwith=2MBps, Mask=none), but i dont know how to limit 512kbps per IP into this pipe 2Mbps.

I do something similar, but I use qos to limit the whole network, and limiters to do the per ip limiting. I don't think there is a way to send traffic through more than one limiter, but I would love to know if there is.

JoshYeah it will be great! Think in the case of a school laboratory, dozens of computers, so i want to give to the subnet of the lab 2Mbps, and if only one computer was online it will have 512kbps and not 2Mbps.
Btw, do you make the QoS rule direct in the interface?

I just use the Shaping wizard, I'm assuming that the lab subnet is served by a specific interface or vlan on your firewall. If you have multiple subnets served by one interface/vlan then it will be more complicated.
