Problem PPPOE WAN speed

Hi,
I have an all in one router from my provider Belgacom.
If I connect my laptop to it I get 30Mbps.
If I add my pfsense box (ALIX.2D19) to it and let the pfsense start the pppoe connection I just got 19.12Mbps.
I just lost 10Mbps. Is this normal? Can I debug this somehow? -
I've got a little further:

Anyone knows how to do this?Tried to create a vlan. Assign it to the wan port and then create a pppoe connection but it doesn't connect.

So on the laptop you are using a special client provided by your ISP?
I would expect that if VLAN tagging was required you wouldn't get any connection at all, not just half the speed.
I would do what you have already tried: Add and VLAN (tagged 10) to the WAN NIC, set pppoe to use it. :-
Anything helpful in the system or ppp logs?There is nothing in the linked article that confirms VLAN tagging should be set to '10' on Belgacom.

No not on my laptop.
The router of my isp is a router which dials in using pppoe but tags it with a vlan 10.
I can use the router as modem and let pfsense do the dialing in but the speed is slower due to not having a vlan tag.
Logs provides nothing usefull. Will post them later when I am back at home. -

What happens if you have the modem in bridge mode and use the Windows PPPoE client? (assuming you're using windows)
Your PPPOE requests will time out without response if they are not send with the correct VLAN tagging, in case of EDPNET (and probably Belgacom as well) VLAN ID=10.
In your case you are connecting successfully but seeing a lower speed. If this was a VLAN problem I would expect no connection at all.

If nothing else works, try to "Disable Hardware Checksum Offloading" (System: Advanced -tab). For example even some Intel NIC's seem to suffer from this problem. Make sure you use short, good cables and that you are connecting with 100MB or better in full duplex. Do you have a switch? Maybe your switch is the problem? Some Linksys switches can cause problems I don't remember exactly what was the problem but when we switched to a Cisco Switch in a network everything worked fine.

What is this log the result of?
What evidence do you have that the ISP supplied router is using VLAN tagging? I think this could be an incorrect assumption.
Try using the Windows PPPoE client from your laptop directly. What speed do you see?
