Can you check your dmesg for any errors?

I couldn't find any way to do that, it would just hang at "Configuring WAN interface".  Couldn't scroll up, couldn't ssh in.
So what I did next is installed the older 22 beta from 2 months ago, configured ONLY the WAN and LAN interfaces, (just in case my previous config was causing the problem) , then did the auto update.  The result: endless reboots right at "Configuring WAN interface".
        So there's definitely a problem…

If it's stuck at "Configuring WAN.." leave it there for 10 minutes, it should boot up properly after a while. I had similar experiences with a few of the older snapshots (https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=83981.0). Last few updates I've done seem to be ok.

FYI, it didn't work, i'm using rt3072 in case that helps.

I can confirm that. But mine 3072 have never been working with pfsense properly. I've tried to use it as an optional interface and it hangs at "Configuring… "
Some builds before it just did kernel panic at this point.

it used to work well, back when 2.2 beta was first released, up until about a month or so after.

ya well, what module are you using?  Maybe this could be specific to rt3072 then…

I've attached the screenshot of pfsense that is hangs right after configuration changes.
Mine card is  USB "edup ep-ms1532" that uses according to found photos of sssembly RT3072L chipset.
pfsense does not show me "n" mode settings so I guess it tries to load some old crappy driver on it.
I'll try to put this card on some newer freebsd build later to check if it's driver.

it's not working in clean FreeBSD 10.1 also.

Since it's a BSD problem, i've continued this thread on the freebsd-wireless list:

I have seen the screen you're posting many times as well. Can you make Interfaces-Assign screenshot and post it here ?

It won't show anything useful, what is it you're looking for exactly?  This is almost certainly a BSD bug, replying to the thread on there would be the best way to troubleshoot this.
