I thought this was the 64-bit URL for the 2.2 Snapshots / RC: http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_releng/10.1/amd64/pfSense_HEAD/.updaters/

My system however hasn't been able to connect to it for a few days and I am thinking it is down for some reason? Did it change?

This is what the "AutoUpdate" tab tells me with that URL plugged in:

      Downloading new version information...done
      Unable to check for updates.
Could not contact custom update server.

I am referring to the auto update URL. It was working and now it isn't.

That one still works for me, though you can use the "real" one instead:

            http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_releng/10.1/i386/pfSense_RELENG_2_2/.updaters/
            or
            http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_releng/10.1/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_2/.updaters/

The 2.2 line was officially branched so it is no longer "HEAD"

Since it was branched, do we nowuse RELENG_2_2 instead of master when performing a gitsync?

It's a little confusing when looking at the changes on github between the 2 branches..

So far master and RELENG_2_2 have the same content. But after 2.2 is released and someone starts adding new features on master for 2.3… then you will need to gitsync to RELENG_2_2 to make sure to just get the code for 2.2.n. So I guess getting in the habit of gitsync to RELENG_2_2 is the thing to do.

                  ^ This.

Use RELENG_2_2 to be sure you get code intended for 2.2 and nothing more.
