      Hello!

Because you can not upgrade an ALIX board to version 2.2 if the BIOS is less than 0.99h I wonder how can I find out which BIOS version is installed when pfsense is running on ALIX?

I know how to check this via serial, but how can I check this at a remote side with no serial access?

      Bye,

The problem dates back way earlier than 2.2. It started with the first nanobsd releases (1.2.3??). If you are running 2.1.x nano currently you are fine. PC Engines has been shipping the compatible bios for years now.
To the original question- I don't know of any way to check the version except on bootup via serial.

It should be in the boot log.

          : grep ^Geode /var/log/dmesg.boot
          Geode LX: PC Engines ALIX.2 v0.99h tinyBIOS V1.4a (C)1997-2007
