APU1d stuck on 0000:7c00

Hello,

I'm having an issue with installing pfsense on a PCengines APU board (APU1D).
Specs:
CPU: AMD G series T40E
DRAM: 2GB
Storage: 16GB m-SATA SSD

I used the following image "pfSense-2.1.5-RELEASE-1g-amd64-nanobsd-20140825-0744.img", and put it on a 2gb SD card, using the following command:

dd if=/Users/me/Downloads/pfSense-2.1.5-RELEASE-1g-amd64-nanobsd-20140825-0744.img of=/dev/rdisk1s1 obs=64k

I read on another thread that you have to switch to 9600 bad rate to see pfsense boot, I did that and tried starting it up at 9600 from the very beginning. Neither worked and spouted gibberish and got stuck at one point.

I've also tried the same procedure with USB drives also with the appropriate image and got the same results. Not sure why it's not booting.

You have an SSD.  You should be installing the full image.  The only question is how you boot the installer.

USB thumbdrive is the obvious choice, USB CD is probably second.

It should boot that Nano image from an SD card but that won't allow you to install the SSD if that's what you're trying to do. Searching here the common cause of that is an incorrectly written card.
What OS are you using to write the image? It looks like you're writing to a slice on the card rather than the entire card. Try using:

dd if=/Users/me/Downloads/pfSense-2.1.5-RELEASE-1g-amd64-nanobsd-20140825-0744.img of=/dev/rdisk1 obs=64k

Assuming /dev/rdisk1 is your sd card.

After recreating the USB boot drive with something else that isn't dd it worked. So that seemed to be the issue. Thanks for the ideas.
