squid 3.4 package on  pfsense 2.2 will be integrated with clamav. You will not need havp any more.

It's also possible with pfsense 2.1(i386) and squid3-dev package. Take a look on forum posts to get it working.

        Hi,

        great. Cool news.
Will it also support AV checking when decrypting SSL ?

        I'm not using i386, I'm using amd64.

        Thanx for your answer.

          Upgraded to 2.2.
          ICAP Protocol Error (no error).
          Same as in 2.1

Is that getting fixed in the 2.2 amd64 Version?

Check 2.2 forum theads for squid manual fixes until it's working out of the box. We are working to fix it as soon as possible.

But the ones I found are only for the i386.
The only option is the bypass, but I think thats not a solution, just a workaround.

                  Tried, couldn't fix it.
Still the icap error. Maybe related only to amd64 ?

Is there an error in your system log?  can you also post /var/squid/logs/cache.log and /var/log/c-icap
