      Hey guys,

I did a fresh install of Pfsense 2.1.3 and later upgraded to the latest version to 2.1.5. I connected 4 USB NIC to a USB Hub to one USB port on the Pfsense box. All NIC including the USB Hub are recognized and working I don't see any errors.  I'm able to set up there static IP Addresses and monitor IPs on every NIC  however all connections are online but the apinger service tells me all connection are offline. If I disable apinger service, sometime I get internet access and sometimes I don't.

My Hardware set up is as Follows.

      Pfsense Box:

      Dell Inspiron 1200
      32bit
      Intel Pentium M 1.3ghz
      786mb of RAM
      80G HD
Built In NIC is used for Lan Network

      Internet Connections:

      1  DSL with Cisco 857 Router  (2mb down / 512k Up)
      2. WiMax 4G (3mb down/ 1mb up).
      3. Cable Internet, Cable Modem Behind a Linksys BEFSR41 (2mb down/ 512k UP)
      4. Cable Internet, Cable Modem Behind a Linksys BEFSX41 (2mb down/ 512k UP)

Note: All these connections are up and running.

My main purpose is to replace my aging Cisco RV016 router that has 4 Internet Connections.

Can anyone give me a hand?

      Thanks

      Juan

            Did anyone help you?

Not sure if that was sarcasm.

There are posts where people have pretty much the same issue as you and all that seems to help is for them to get a different USB NIC that works, which is a hit and miss process.

I usually advise that if you have a system with 1 working NIC that instead of adding usb nics that getting a VLAN switch is a more reliable and sure fire solution.

However - This doesn't seem to make me popular (-:

I don't think you will ever be happy with 4 USB NICs on a USB hub.

sometime I get internet access and sometimes I don't.

Yup.  Sounds familiar.  USB NICs suck.  There's your advice.  Get real hardware (like the Cisco you're trying to replace.)
