Dans issues haven't been worked on. Checked the bug report history on it, seems there is no package maintainer for it anymore.

No dansguardian package maintainer for years as I've posted on other topic. A pfsense package maintainer does exists but freebsd port is a step before any changes on pfsense package.

The issue you have is related to dansguardian binary, not package gui.

Can the dans binary be fixed and posted to a private repository? Like how the web upload fixed package is on a private repository

Maybe you can try old 2.0 binaries on pfsense 2.2 after installing compat8 freebsd port

            https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=compat8&stype=all&sektion=all

Please do not test it on production box.

And if works, do you mind if you post a complete install steps you did to get it working on 2.2?

@Asterix Are your blocklist working for you? Also do you use IP Address ACLs?

I may have to do my config over to be sure but IP Address base ACLs doesn't seem to work nor blocking of of any cat in the blocklist for me right now

Blacklist works… and yes IP address ACLs as well. It just the "web upload is banned" bug is killing my config.

Wish I was FreeBSD techy to test out other versions. If it were windows I would had been all over it.. lol

thanks Asterix… I'll have to play around with my config then...

What is the output when you run?

                  ps -aux | grep dansguardian

                  Also are you using amd64?

I see the process started but I thought I would also see the config file its using..

Yup on amd64. I switched back to 2.2 late last night. Won't be installing dans for now as I see progress on e2 package.

For those who needs e2guardian/dansguardian working on pfsense 2.2 I've open a bounty to speed up the process..

Hope you can help me too…  ;)

I did a re-install of it and its working for me now… I'll have to test "web upload is banned" issue.. For what I'm using it, I don't think it will be an issue.
