Finally reverted back to old package, working fine for now. Waiting for 2.2 become stable.

          Tell us:
What you are trying to achieve
What you have tried to set up so far
          What errors you get
What works and what does not work
          Screenshots/settings…

          Then someone can help you.
There is no way we can help based on your original post.

I recall a disclaimer with 2.2 in regards to packages.

            Packages

While the most popular packages should be fine, lesser-used ones may not have been updated by their maintainer, or may not be well-tested and have issues. If you’re dependent on packages, we encourage you to test your combination of packages before upgrading in production.

and this is a free open source project.
If you are interested in particular packages, then step up to the plate and get involved in helping to maintain them.
If you do not have the skills to debug the code, then contribute in some other way, or put in some cash to pay someone to update the packages.
There is no magic here - if everyone puts in appropriate resources then (hundreds of) thousands of people/installations benefit. Please all do your bit and then report problems in a friendly way so that others who have put in effort also (but maybe introduced a bug accidentally ;) ) do not feel like they are being attacked.

seems like some1 wants free stuff to work out of the box without putting in any effort, no1 is a slave and under no obligation to fix things when u want them to fix so better help in fixing it or just look elsewhere

This is wrong, I am ready to pay for the services , but as per the effort is concerned, most of us are non programmer relying on you guys for solutions.

Please note, if we are using open source product in our companies and putting our time in installing and providing the feedback , we are equally important in line to making this product worthwhile. Only issue is when setup and work get held up due to non information and non standard packages and information is at best sketchy (i am grateful to you guys putting your effort).

I do request you that the process of implementing a package with certain goal in mind like firewall, basic utility like web filtering, antivirus etc should work out of the box, and other packages can be developed in due course.

I am ready to pay for the package and one of my bounty is still open if pfsense give the above services out of the box, it will only help us in making the package worthwhile in the long run. I appreciate the pfsense developers efforts, specially when it is  open source.

If at all you guys are offended, I regret my post.

Which on the many suggestions here regarding the squid/squidguard/clamav/whatnot you researched and with what results?  We do not even know what packages and versions you installed, geez… also, posting such "details" link pfSense version seems too much to ask?! You post zero useful information to debug anything, fail to describe any of the troubles -- yet asking for help and getting suprised you don't warm welcome?  ::) :o

See, I for one have zero interest in web censorship or running an antivirus on the firewall (the only free available one sucks goats nuts detection-wise and is just a piece of incredible resource hog.)

Point taken, antivirus is not important, but what about web filtering.

I like DNS based filtering if you just have to filter.  Lots of free services.

Sir, you either post some info to work with - or move to paid support and pay for their time so that they can get that info themselves and charge you for it at the same time. I personally am not going to waste a single more minute with totally unproductive rants. Produce some meat here to work with, or don't waste bandwidth and DB space.

Give information like above, then people who know the various packages can either give you help about how to set it up, or debug the problems and fix the packages.

                              Thanks,

I am facing following issues :

                              a. I have installed fresh pfsense 2.2        (okay)
                              b. Created a certificate (okay)
                              c. Loaded squid3 (okay and successful)
                              d. Configured https (men in middle) and saved (done)
                              e. loaded squidguard 3 ( signature checking off) (loaded okay)
                              f. No system patch loaded (like in pfsense 2.1.5)
                              g. Loaded shallalist (loaded successfully)
                              h. Apply setting to squidguard (done)
                              i. checked web filtering (okay)

Restarted, now squidguard service is not started and even page is not loading. tried to load this service manually but no avail.
Tried to do various combinations but service is still off

Finally reverted to older version and 10 hours gone waste.

Please give me some advice on this issue.

I donot require antivirus , just the filtering.
