I'm running a pfsense router via hyper-v 2.2 latest snapshot jan 16th. Using hn0-hn2 adapters.

I've setup traffic shaping and for reasons unknown to me, when you go to pftop in the console, the queues do not appear (like when you go in pftop and press left)

Why is this? How do I fix this?

Do you have any warnings in the top right of the web page?

When there are no queues, that can mean that the traffic shaper, specifically ALTQ, failed to recognize your NICs.  I don't see an HN driver in the list here:

          ALTQ Supported NICs

Do you have other options in Hyper-V for NICs?

oh man :( I believe hn drivers are the only kind you can get out of a virtually installed PFSense at least thru hyper-v. Someone correct me if I am wrong please.

No warnings are in the top right.

                I have 2.2 RC:

                2.2-RC (amd64)
built on Fri Jan 16 11:53:08 CST 2015
                FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p4

You are on the latest version.

and after just getting an email about RC being out, I found this: " Add vmx and hn to list of ALTQ capable interfaces.  " here: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/2.2_New_Features_and_Changes under traffic shaping.

Soooo what gives? :( Time to submit a new bug for 2.2.1? haaaaaaaa…

2.2 RC is no longer the newest version

                  New version: 2.2-RELEASE

How to I upgrade to the latest release if it already says I have the latest release?

I just checked the dashboard this morning. It let me upgrade to RELEASE.

I re-created the shaping rules, and went into pftop to check the queues….still nothing.....

Any of the dev's have any ideas?

edit Also if I dare reboot the router after having the shaping rules created, it keeps the entire network from connecting to the internet. I can ping the router and access the router, and as soon as I delete the shaping rules everyone can get back online.

Add me to the list that can't get this to work. Anyone have any ideas? If I use PRIQ, it appears to work, but I need a little more control.
