Should reports from testing 2.2.1-development be made in this forum or reported in the normal topical subforums?

Of course if you can provide feedback on specific bugs hopefully fixed in 2.2.1, that's still best in redmine: https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense/issues?query_id=41

Ah, ok… The 2.2 RC there is misleading. :D

We haven't officially fired that off yet so the page is still out of date. The auto-updates may still be redirecting to the main update server also.

We also haven't yet decided if we're going to make a dedicated board for 2.2.1, or a 2.2.x dev board, etc. Still a few things left to consider.

For now just put the threads in their usual sections.

I would strongly suggest to NOT touch the snapshots ATM…

                2.2.1-DEVELOPMENT-i386-20150213-0917

That one should be fixed with current snapshots (https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense/repository/revisions/cc94ea5019d6d718b57f428ce92d3959571c55c2 made it in the build this afternoon).

Though I'll still be testing in a VM for a bit  :)

Well, it was fixable by tar zxf /root/ <latestfullbackup.tgz>-C / (When you have serial console. Tough cookies on any remote box. :D)</latestfullbackup.tgz>

Well, 2.2.1-DEVELOPMENT-i386-20150213-1429 works, though the PHP is clearly severely miscompiled. Should not link against the outdated libpcre at all. Plus:

Warning: PHP Startup: Suhosin was compiled without session support, which is probably not what you want. All session related features will not be available, e.g. session encryption. If session support is really not needed, recompile Suhosin with -DSUHOSIN_NO_SESSION_WARNING=1 to suppress this warning
