Problems with android phones on the network
-
Hi all!
I have bizarre problem on my network, concerning Android phones. My phone goes to sleep and when I wake it (screen on) it takes about 5-15 seconds for the internet to start working.
I have dual stack 4&6 on my lan and access point with openwrt loaded on it. Openwrt box is plugged in pfsense 2.2
I realize that it may be android & IPv6 combo that its causing this behavior and I
m curious if anyone else is having this issue?
In IPv4 only networks this problem does NOT exist at all…
And if somebody has the same issue, how did you resolve it?Thanks!

Huh really nobody with this issue?
Like this: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79576 ? -
Thanks for the link. It helped me solving the problem.
I was fighting this issue for some time with my Nexus 7 2013.
The change from "managed" to "assisted" in the DHCPv6 - Router Advertisements section solver the network lag problem. -
:)
That was configuration issue you had.Guys, google responded:
As regards the problems on pfsense: as stated in #23, this is an unexpected configuration. The IPv6 code is built around the assumption that RDNSS would always be used with autoconfiguration. But pfsense advertises DNS servers in RDNSS without enabling stateless address autoconfiguration.
The fix is likely to be not to use IPv6 nameservers unless there are appropriate IPv6 addresses to contact them with. In the meantime, a workaround is to enable stateless address autoconfiguration.
But I have it on assisted mode, so above statement does not apply to me, or is it?
