Latency Issues and Possible Hardware Issues in 2.0.2
-
I have performed upgrade from 2.0.1 and clean install of 2.0.2, but the same issue seems to persist. I don't know how to report it so I'll just give my observations:
– High latency reports from all NICs even though traffic is practically non-existent
- -- latency is normally at values of 60 to 300 ms, not 800 ms.
-- unable to properly provide internet access from multi-WAN setup
-- slow response from webConfigurator interface
-- dmesg returns the following messages ad infinitum:
| arpresolve: can't allocate llinfo for 192.168.1.1
arpresolve: can't allocate llinfo for 192.168.15.1
rl1: watchdog timeout
rl0: watchdog timeout |attached are some screen shots.
I use PCI Express NICs with Realtek chips.

You might get better results with a pfSense 2.1 snapshot build. The 2.1 builds use much more up to date device drivers than the 2.0.x builds.

What NICs are you using that are supported by the rl(4) driver? I didn't think it supported any pci-e NICs. :-\
If 300ms is within your 'normal' range of latency you might have to tune the apinger parameters. Is think 200ms is the default setting for latency warnings.
