Locked to Telus modem + pfSense + OpenVPN. Options?
-
Hello I hope someone can help me.
I've been running a pfSense box with OpenVPN to route my internet through Private Internet Access's VPN tunnel. My service provider is Telus in Canada and they provide me with an Actiontec V1000H modem for internet and Optik TV. In the past I was able to find codes online to enable bridging on the modem so that I could use the pfSense box. Well Telus updated the firmware and I'm not able to find any root codes that will allow me to get back into the hidden menus and enable bridging again.
What are my options to get my pfSense boxing working properly with a non bridgeable modem? I like routing my traffic through PIA's VPN as it allows me to get better Netflix and remain anonymous. Can I set the pfSense box to bridge mode and use it as an access point? Will this even work?
I'm not particularly network savvy but I do tend to figure things out eventually with tenacity but even I know when I'm over my head! Help!!
Thanks

A bit more info:
I've just hooked it all up again and get the following WAN and LAN information. I'm on 2.15 by the way
WAN (wan) -> nfe0 -> v4/DHCP4: 192.168.1.71/24
LAN (lan) -> em0 -> v4: 192.168.1.2/24I don't think I've ever seen the DHCP4 before in the WAN line. Is this my problem?>

No, your problem is that WAN overlaps with LAN.
