      Hello,

      I have two pfSense routers:

      10.0.0.1 - Router 1
      10.0.0.2 - Router 2
      4.2.2.1 - Example target

I have created a static route on 10.0.0.1 for 4.2.2.1/32 with 10.0.0.2 as the gateway. If a computer using 10.0.0.1 as its gateway connects to 4.2.2.1, the connection will last for 60 seconds and it then drops. In this case, I am connecting to 4.2.2.1 via SSH. This setup used to work when Router 2 was a DD-WRT system.

Do I need to make any special firewall rules on Router 1 and/or Router 2 for this to work? Both Router 1 and Router 2 are NAT gateways as I have two internet connections. Most of the hosts on my network use 10.0.0.1 whereas a handful use 10.0.0.2.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Regards,

I just thought I would report back. It was Firewall related as the 'Bypass firewall rules for traffic on the same interface' option under 'System' -> 'Advanced' did the trick. I applied this setting to router 1 and now it's all good.

            Thanks for your help!
