      Dear All,

I have configured pfsense with 2wan and 1lan with wan loadbalance and other features. Now yesterday I have subscribed for cable broadband with 10mbps up and down speed; now i totally fade up with this connection. I can't use internet at all using pfsense but if i directly plugged in to pc and configured the ip it works with a basic authentication of ISP. Following is more detail,

      Connection Details:
      1. Connection comes from my local cable tv provider using fibre > Media Converter > Ethernet.
      2. A static IP & specific DNS was given from ISP, with username and password.
      3. In pc after IP config, whenever i browse internet I have redirected to login page for 1st time and then after providing my uid & pwd I can browse internet.
      4. I have to keep open the login page and with another tab or window I can browse. ISP said its not mandatory to open the login window.

      Pfsense Config details:
      1. Two LAN card Installed. WAN is on PCI and LAN is with built in NIC.
      2. WAN configured with static IP type using provided ip and Gateway also created with provided ip.
      3. In general setup Multiple DNS is there with this ISP specific DNS.
      4. On LAN side dhcp configured with default firewall rules.

Thats all.. But no internet.  :o :o

      Diagnostics:
PFsense can Ping gateway and dns (ISP) not 8.8.8.8
Login page not coming automatically or not getting redirected.
      LAN network working fine.

** I have tested with running pfsense pc with two wan as well as fresh installed pc..
Just getting confused what I am missing or why its not working..

It will work with any wan router, but i need to use it with pfsense only.  With router I have to put the wan connection to wan port and configured properly with DHCP on LAN interface then I have to connect with pfsense and have to choose connection type DHCP from wan interface page. It surely worked. 8)

Do anyone having any idea how i figured this??? :-[ I want to run it directly with pfsense, no router in middle.  8)

Please help.. Brain totally hanged by thinking and thinking.. :( :( :(

They put a captive portal on your WAN?  What idiots.  Get another ISP.

My ISP did that too, but I still use that particular DSL modem because it functions normally as a PPPoE bridge.

If I do not bridge it, I think it redirects all DNS queries or HTTP connections to their page. … :(

Please correct any obvious misinformation in my posts.

Are we talking PPPoE or a Captive Portal?  If you can PPPoE and bypass the CP that's completely different.

Not possible, no other ISP available, I talked to ISP hope they use auto authentication, no manual login page will come up. Lets see what happen…

I can't got you. I am using a direct line, no modem is there in between. ISP switch room > Fiber to my office > Media Converter (Fiber to Ethernet) > PFSense.

Can you please elaborate what you are guiding…
