Unable to connect to Zen Fibre with pfsense
-
Hi, I've just moved house and was able to get Zen Fibre. Hooray! However, I'm having trouble getting my router to connect. Boo!
I am using pfsense 2.2.2 and I understand that it should be possible to get it to fire up a PPP connection. However, it's proving less simple than expected. I thought that all I would have to do is to put the Zen username and password in to the configuration; support dude said that PPPoA (is this the same as just PPP?) or PPPoE should work, but neither of them do.
When I try with PPPoE I get the following logs in System log:
php-fpm[71998]: /interfaces.php: Creating rrd update script
check_reload_status: Reloading filter
check_reload_status: updating dyndns wan
check_reload_status: Restarting ipsec tunnels
php-fpm[71998]: /interfaces.php: The command '/sbin/ifconfig '' link 'bc:ee:7b:8c:67:7b'' returned exit code '1', the output was 'ifconfig: interface does not exist'I've tried leaving the MAC address field blank. No dice. PPP gives me a bunch of events in PPP log but the following two seem most relevant:
ppp: [wan_link0] MODEM: Fail to open serial port /dev/cuau0 on speed 115200
ppp: [wan_link0] uu_lock(cuau0): read error: File existsAnyone else gotten this working? What might I be missing?

It's wooooorking!
For those that come after me with the same issue: the solution was to go into the WAN interface configuration, click the link for "Advanced and MLPPP" and in the "Link Interfaces" box select the right interface (there weren't any selected - that's never going to work!), then save. The problem was possibly caused by my having some settings carrying over from the old ISP, not sure if completely new pfsense-ers will have to do this.
