      2.1.5-RELEASE

Has anyone ever seen a limiter get "stuck" at a specific bandwidth?  I have an interface with a limiters set at 90Mbits In and Out.  No matter what when I speed test I get 20/20 using both ookla and speedof.me.  If I disable the limiter I get 90+ down.

I have disabled the limiters, deleted then, recreated them, and reapplied.  No change.

I just set them down to 5Mbits, cleared all states for the test host, and still get 20/20.

      Weird.

ETA: There are a lot of different limiters on a lot of different VLANs.  Some with masks, some without.  Some with subqueues with masks (for fairness) some without.  Do these somehow interact with each other?  Not all of them have traffic at the same time.

I ended up disabling the limiter for this interface for this event.  I used another limter set at 75/75 and got 20/20 again so something is confused.

Did you reset the states in between tests?

What shows under Diag > Limiter Info? It should show the speed of the limiters there. Also look in  /tmp/rules.limiter

I have not been able to get limiters working at all, since 2.1.5 or earlier. Could just be me though… but I would expect SOME life to show in the limiters when most of my other configs work as I assumed they would.

Is there a standard practice for enabling debugging or verbose logging? I think I remember something at boot about verbose logging. Is there a debug toggle for ipfw/pf/altq?

Please correct any obvious misinformation in my posts.
