There may be an easy way to do this but I can't wrap my head around it..

Have some servers with 1:1 Nat mappings configured for failover with T1 as primary and cable as backup. Works fine, when T1 goes down it cuts over to cable and once T1 comes back up it reverts back to T1 automatically.

Is there a way to prevent reverting back to T1 in my case until I intervene manually? Ie if I'm running on backup I don't want my production servers cutting back over to T1 in the middle of the day (if the circuit gets restored then) while I have DNS pointing to the cable IPs. I know I could manually set the gateway as down, but I'd love a way to do this automatically

Currently there is no way to handle that automatically.

To clarify a bit: You could, once you know the gateway is down, manually disable the gateway by checking "Mark gateway as down" under System > routing in the gateway entry. That would prevent it from being used once it comes back up.

There's just no way to automatically fall into that state.
