      Hi there,

we are using pfSense 2.2.2 on Dual Wan mode however we have problems connecting to FTP servers.

We've tried several clients, from FlashFXP to Filezilla , different modes such as Passive mode or active mode however always end up having issues. Sometimes directory listing will display successfully, while sometimes I can't even open any folders let alone download or upload files.

Are there any specific settings that I've overseen in my pfSense firewall that block me from accessing my FTP servers?

Some expert advise would be highly appreciated - thank you very much.

Can you post a screen shot of your firewall rules?

Active mode will NOT work without FTP Client Proxy package.

You do understand the helper/proxy for ftp was removed awhile back.  Depending on what your doing you can grab the package dok mentions or you have to manually create the rules. Sounds like your connecting outbound to servers on the public.. Passive should just work without any issues unless you have restrictive outbound rules.

Or are you serving up the ftp and clients are having issues connecting to them behind pfsense?
