First off, I apologize if my questions are basic, as I am new to pfsense and my searches of the forum/docs has not helped me.

      System:

      • LAN: Setup for Ethernet subnet 192.168.1.XXX
      • OPT1: Hooked up to WAP at 192.168.2.1
      • DHCP server setup on both LAN and OPT1
      • DNS resolver is set at default with Network Interfaces and Outgoing Network Interfaces both left set to ALL

Everything on LAN is working good.

      Steps:

      • Connect device to WAP off of OPT1
      • Device gets expected IP address from OPT1’s range
      • Device can connect to web interface of WAP

      Issue:

      • All internet requests from device fail to resolve DNS names

Is there any other setup that must be done for devices that connect to OPT1’s WAP to have DNS access?

      Thanks

It looks like it was a firewall issue as pfsense does not have the default outbound firewalls rules on OPT1 that it has on LAN.  Just had to engage the brain.
