          Hi!

Normally you should have a least two network cards in your PC. Insert an empty HDD, burn a CD with the appropriate version (386 or 64 bit) of the latest full-install version and put into the CD-drive. Boot and the pfSense will come up.

It will show you the available interfaces (names for the different network cards found by pfSense) and allow you to choose which one is WAN and which is LAN.

Afterwards there is a menu on the screen, enter 99 and ENTER to start installing pfSense to your harddisk….

After assigning the interfaces connect a computer to your LAN interface and go to the webinterface by entering into your browser

          192.168.1.1

and entering in the log screen

          admin as user

          pfsense as password.

The wizzard will start to help you through initial setup of your new router... enjoy!

            pfSense isn't a network monitoring tool, it's a router/firewall.
