Using multiple interfaces
-
Hi Guys.
I am really new to the use of pfSense, but have some experience in setting up firewalls on a home network. I have a Watchguard x750e which is now running pfSense latest version.
The x750e has 8 ports, Port 0 is WAN and Port 1 is LAN (192.168.1.1) and these are working fine. I would like to use the other ports and still have them on the same IP range eg I would like my NAS plugged into port 2 and to be on 192.168.1.5. Is there any way to set this up in this way and can someone provide some instructions?
Thanks in advance.
Mark.

An observation: In my experience it's better to run your NAS on a separate network from your LAN, especially if you anticipate high transfer rates.

Whilst a real switch will provide more bandwidth etc you can just bridge the ports to use a single subnet.
Have a look here for an idea what to do: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=48947.msg269592#msg269592
