    Supermicro PCI-E riser not working in Supermicro 1U chassis

      Hey guys,

      So I got this Supermicro Atom mobo in a Supermicro 1U chassis.

      I purchased a Supermicro PCI-E riser thinking it would allow me to add additional NICs.  Well, not so much.

      Looks like I need a really DEEP socket on the riser to extend out to where the add on card is.

      Any idea for the Supermicro part number for this?

            mm I notice there's extra holes on the side, is it possible to move the mobo one more? As well how regards to noise how noisy is the power supply? Might buy heh.

              Hey pclausen,

              you will need a PCIe adapter cable to realize what you want!
              They are mostly out as PCIe x1, PCIe x4 and PCIex8 variants.

              Here is an example shown:

                That looks like the width of a standard PCI-E Extension.  Here's the first one I found searching on Google.

                      Yeah, I thought about moving the mobo over to the right and use those other holes, until I realized that nothing would like up with the front panel any longer if I did that.  :)  I agree that those holes are used with the slightly wider mATX boards, in which case the rise I have would have worked.

                      The chassis is a Supermicro CSE-503L-200B and the motherboard is a Supermicro X7SPA-H-D525-B.
