Boot device incorrect after upgrade from version 2.2.1 - help needed to fix it!

We recently upgraded our PFSENSE (32 bit version) from version 2.2.1 to 2.2.2. Following this upgrade, the server would no longer boot without manual intervention from our data center support staff to select the correct boot device.
When their technical staff investigated the problem in more detail, they reported the following:
"During the boot, it is trying to boot from: /dev/ufs/pfSense which is not the valid mount point. The correct mount point should be ufs:/dev/da0s1a. Our knowledge how to reconfigure pfsense (freebsd) to read another location is too limited and we can not provide a solution in this case."
Can anyone tell us how to fix this so that the server will boot correctly? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

There isn't enough information here to go by.
Is this a full install or NanoBSD? Or is it running live from CD/Memstick?
If it is a full install you can edit /etc/fstab to change where it is looking for the root slice, but from the text in the error I'm not certain that's what is happening.
