For some reason the ntpd service keeps failing on my pfsense router. I noticed that my system was exactly an hour behind and the only thing that fixed that was manually setting the date:

      [2.2.3-RELEASE][admin@pfsene]/root: date 1507251228
date: can't reach time daemon, time set locally
      Sat Jul 25 12:28:00 EST 2015

But as you can see the server cannot reach the time daemon. In the gui the service will randomly show started or stopped.

Trying to sync time with ntp with either a remote or local server seems to be failing now but earlier I could pull date with ntpq -p… but now it does not work. Restarting the ntpd service seems to have set my date back one hour.

      Any advice?
