    Hi there

I want to be able to monitor the adsl or cable modem that my pfsense machine is attached to.

On the cable modem side its more straight forward as the modems here in AU are just in bridging mode. But for DSL we use PPPoE (as most do).

I would like to put an ip on the WAN interface separate to the PPPoE or DHCP so that i can talk to the admin interface and snmp interface of the modem. This would allow using the zabbix or something to pull out the sync speeds and what not.

Any thoughts and ideas would be great. Ideally users on the LAN interface would be blocked from accessing it.
