When I click on the two links in your message, I do receive the pbi files ….

So, your question is like others with the same subject : " Can't retrieve packages on the pfSEnse box".
This is typical setup problem - more sepecific : DNS isn't ok.

Btw : only use the 32 bits (pfSEnse) version if you really can't do otherwise.

edit : can you install other packages ?
        You saw : https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=97557.0 ?

          Hi Gertjan,
But i could install the file manager with no problem.. The DNS is configured, i can ping www.google.pt
I install the 32bits because first i install 64 bits version and i have the same problem and i read that is a problem on 64 bits and squid…
Do you think it's better the 64 bits? I'm usine sphere..
On the dns i configured 192.168.20.1 , 192.168.20.2 but on the main page appear that the dns servers are 127.0.0.1 , 192.168.20.2 and 192.168.20.1 .
          It's possible to remove the 127.0.0.1 ?

          Thanks

whats @ 192.168.20.1-2 ? you run your own dns servers there?

Always prefer 64 bits - 32 bits will drop out soon.

You saw how many people talk out squid on this forum ? (no, not because it work so great)

              On the dns i configured 192.168.20.1 , 192.168.20.2

Ah, this goes way off standard …. your first issue will be : things don't work.
Ah .... that is your issue  ;)
So, pfsense tries to use this 192.168.20.1 , 192.168.20.2 and it won't work. Or gateway not found, or ....

                Hi,
192.168.20.1 and 192.168.20.2 are my dns.. I have a domain installed. It's better use public dns? The 8.8.8.8 from google?

If my dns and my gateway don´t work i could't install file manager on pfsense neither ping www.google.pt

                What should i do?

Stop wasting your time with squid2.  It's ancient.  Use squid3 instead.

It's not like the Squid3 package would exactly excel … however, using zombie shit that's abandoned both upstream and on pfSense will not get you anywhere. Regardless... when you cannot fetch files, you cannot install anything.

I had exactly the same issue with 127.0.0.1 DNS address. I'm new to pfSense and this is my first test install of 2.2.4-RELEASE (Jul 25th 2015).

First thing I noticed in Status: Dashboard - Version that new releases couldn't be checked. Also package installs failed to download problem. However, from SSH shell fetch was working ok.

With Diagnostics: DNS Lookup I could see that files.pfsense.org would not resolve on 127.0.0.1, but only other DNS servers below. Apparently package installer does not use more than one DNS.

So by disabling Services: DNS Resolver for now I could succeed with package installations. Hope this will help other newbies to get started.
