Adding PFSense to HSRP and PBR
-
Hi,
Currently I have two cisco routers (Primary MPLS and Secondary ADSL) that plug directly into ports 1 & 2 of a switch.
The address are 10.0.0.251 / 24 and 10.0.0.252 / 24 which is presented as a HSRP Address 10.0.0.250
which is the default gateway for the network. There is now a requirement to change from a single VLAN on the local network to two which would have different
routes outs. (These are to be totally segregated at all times)My initial thought would be to use PFSense and policy based routing (LAN 2 / VLAN 2 & LAN 2 / VLAN 3, WLAN 2 and WAN 3) but I am unsure
how the Cisco would connect to PFSense and how that would work as the internal network and MPLS address range can not be changed. As always any help appreciated.

Sounds like all you need to do is eliminate the HSRP IP address and put the two routers on different VANs/subnets. Make each router the default gateway for its subnet.
Do you want each router to be a backup outbound path for the other? You'll need some policy based routing statements with SLAs attached.
