This is a quad port GBit card, right? It is based on the Intel 82571EB chipset. This is supported by the em driver in FreeBSD.

        Hmm.. contents of /var/log/dmesg.boot ?

Hi, I'm Lance Boyle, and people often wonder if I'm real.

It's enabled by default. Provide the requested info, plus pciconf -lv output. (Diagnostics - Command Prompt- Execute Shell command)

Well, this means the computer is not detecting the card. If it's somehow disabled there's not much you can do within pfSense.

Better look in the bios settings and see if all PCIe slots are enabled. You might also want to find the newest bios update for this computer.
Perhaps disabling PCIe power management might help. Just try a few settings. You might also want to put the card in a different computer, and see if it works then.

Hi, I'm Lance Boyle, and people often wonder if I'm real.

While there, disable useless junk like the sound card, LPT port, etc. etc. etc.

Sometimes, at the some board in the BIOS must be first enabled to the or on the PCIe slot - PCIe x1 to get the card
                        full recognized.
