I just bought a MSI Speedster A4R wich bases on Intels 945GT Express chipset with the southbridge ICH7R. If i read the hardware-support i can just find ICH6, not 7.

I'm waiting for some parts to my new router-computer, so i can try it just yet. I have an Samsung 80 GB SATA-drive (HD080HJ). Will Pfsense install on a drive connected to an unsupported SATA-controller?

The motherboard also has two Intel 82573L network cards integrated that i cant find in the hardwarelist either. Any chance they will work?

I would guess it'll probably work. If that controller is indeed not supported, you'll get "no disks found" in the installer and it won't work.

Ok, lets just hope it works. I have some old PATA/IDE-harddrives laying around, so harddrive is no problem to replace. But to buy 2 brand new network cards when i have to good Intel Gbit-NICs on the motherboard would feel wrong :-)

If anyone has got the combo of southbridge / network cards working, please write a reply.

          Thanks for the answer.
