192.168.1.0 to 192.168.2.1

Hi guys,
Absolute newbie when it comes to anything more than off the shelf routers or switches here.
I want both 1.0 and 2.1 networks to be able to access each other's resources but I'm unsure of the terminology and pfSense seems to be confusing me further.
From what I've read I would need to add a static route, however I've tried that (probably configured incorrectly in all honesty) and it's not working.
This however could just be a windows problem as I can ping 192.168.1.254 (my main BT router) from an Ubuntu VM which is on the 2.1 network, but I can't ping that same VM from inside Windows.
Here is the output from the Ubuntu VM:
This is a clean pfSense install with 1 WAN and 1 LAN, no other rules or further configuration yet.
Thanks in advance.

You have some kind of routing issue given your router IP is sending an ICMP redirect in response to a ping to something on its own network. Not clear what that might be as it's not clear what's connected where. Where is the 2 network in relation to your BT router?

The 2 network is the pfSense network.
The pfSense WAN port is connected to a port on the BT router to give it internet traffic and gets its address via DHCP.

......
and I'm on the [192.168.2.1] network, how do I want to reinstall it?Please, do not revive 5 years old posts that have nothing to do with your question.
If you want to know (learn) something, you should read first, and for a long time.
After all the questions answers from others, the huge manual - pfSense has a manual - and thousands of video's on Youtube with every imaginable solution for any possible question, consider asking a good, detailed question.Btw : using a LAN interface with a 192.168.2.1/24 setup is just fine - I'm using one right now. It's just perfect.
