Spamd - what is the current status?
-
Just wondering what the status is for spamd?
I see that someone is editing spamd files on github.
https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense-packages/tree/22a8681e70bc2218b3f41830bd37edbd47f649cb/config/spamdBut when I install the package on pf i dont see the rules being added?
table <spamd-white>persist file "/var/db/whitelist.txt"
rdr pass on {$wanif} proto tcp from <blacklist>to port smtp -> 127.0.0.1 port spamd
rdr pass on {$wanif} proto tcp from <spamd>to port smtp -> 127.0.0.1 port spamd
rdr pass on {$wanif} proto tcp from ! <spamd-white>to port smtp -> 127.0.0.1 port spamd
rdr pass on {$wanif} proto tcp from <spamd-white>to port smtp -> {$nextmta} port smtpThen I added some blacklist files, they dont appear in any tables when i do a lookup on the table:
http://www.openbsd.org/spamd/traplist.gz
http://www.dnsbl.manitu.net/download/nixspam-ip.dump.gzAfter awhile I am still getting email on the email server and nothing is appearing the spamd database list.
So I am thinking a few things:
The rules are being added, maybe its just my setup.
The lists are not being parsed, maybe that's just my setup as well.My rig:
I have two Pfsense soekris net-5501
I am using CARP
My email server is using a VirtualIP on CARP.

The status is whatever it is… It works just fine as a tarpit. I have no use for it, just did bunch of fixes to get rid of most horrible bugs there. If you are using the package, you'd better get these fixes as well, or your disk will get eaten by pflogd logs (literally gigabytes in a day). https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense-packages/pull/1086
