Downloading not stable

Hi everyone,
I'm very new to pfsense.I'm using 20Mbps internet connection. When i download something
downloading speed is not stable
pfSense running on
Version 2.2.4-RELEASE (i386)
built on Sat Jul 25 19:56:41 CDT 2015
FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p15You are on the latest version.
Platform pfSense

what are you downloading?
There are two endpoints to consider stable speed, your end and the file server's end.

Mainly icloud sync is very slow. mostly downloading from dropbox and now only sometimes speed reaching 2MB and mostly not stable.. earlier I'm download stable over 1.5MB - 2MB

Did you try by-passing the firewall during the issue to see if it went away?

Direct from Router to PC is stable.
Pfsense proxy bypass IP also not stable

Proxy? You never mentioned anything about additional intercepting services that may be doing stuff behind the scenes. Do you have anything else running? Snort?
What does your System Activity look like when doing these transfers?

Smoothwall Express ie the opensource version doesnt support vlans for a start, didnt go beyond that.

Nobody said it was worth anything other than the OP ;) Pretty useless in feature set compared to pfsense for sure.. I was just remarking that its still being developed is all..
I highly doubt the OP went to the commercial version.. But sure maybe..
