      Hi there,

I remotely upgrade through webgui a APU amd64 2.2.4 pfSense full install.

All seemed to went fine until I discoved FreeBSD system packages installed myself not working anymore…

What a suprise, the system switch to i386 !

Any idea of what happened ?

How can I remotely revert to AMD64 ?

      Thanks and regards

My guess would be that the firmware update was pointing at the i386 version.

As for remotely reverting.  Have you look at System: Firmware Restore Full Backup tab?
You may also be able to do a Manual Update to get to the version you want.

I have no experience at reverting from one version to another.  So operate at you own risk.  Those are just a couple of ideas you may want to check into.

You had the wrong update URL hard coded in your config. Go to System>Firmware, Updater Settings and uncheck "Use an unofficial server for firmware upgrades" and save. Then it'll pull the appropriate auto-update going forward.

To switch back, load the 64 bit full update file. You'll have to power cycle at the end, it can't run the 64 bit reboot binary on a 32 bit kernel.

You were true ! Thanks guys !

I think my updater url was wrong because the hardware was upgraded from i386 (Alix Nano) to amd64 (APU) a few month ago. And the config file store this information.

Everything is working as expected now ! Sorry for noise :)

            Regards

Glad to hear it. 2.3 changes things there where switching architecture on upgrade won't happen as it won't let you do it, but in the mean time, if you restore a config cross-architecture, make sure you don't have that set before you upgrade the restored system.

                Same problem as you.

To try to correct I have downloaded the Full Update 2.2.5 for amd64 tar ball.
I have run the manually update with the tgz file.
                It's still in progress.
                I'll keep in touch.
