    Why i have a IPv6 Gateway?

      Hi all,
      I just installed Pfsense under KVM Proxmox everything works fine, but on my machines im seeing 2 gateways one for IPv4 and other for IPv6, i dont have IPv6 DHCP active? my older pfsense under Esxi didint have this… pfsense IP is 192.168.1.2

        fe80:: ipv6 addresses are reserved self assigned ip's.
        Here is a great article on address types for ipv6.

          Thanks For replying, its like linux loopback?

            No, it's NOT any loopback. It works across your LAN. Seriously, it's time to stop ignoring IPv6. These things have been enabled and preferred by default on any decently modern OS for years. (In Windows world, beginning with Vista.)
