Bringing up interface on USB NIC

I have few which doesn't work quite OK, they are detected, I can see them in drop down box, I can set them up with IP's etc, but with some reason they doesn't past any traffic. I can ping them but as LAN interface I cant see any website on the LAN PC's, when I plug different one but also through USB this one works fine (another brand). When I use first one as WAN then pfSense box can access internet, but again LAN not but at the same time from LAN I can ping WAN IP - strange!
I think its something to do with drivers - I didn't bother to do bigger investigation, I just used another brand.

I only tested one USB to Ethernet with chip set AX 88772b.
On v2.1.5 it had similar problems like you describe and can't be used.
On v2.2.3 & v2.2.4 it is working properly, no more problems. -
The one I've ordered is based on the ASIX AX88179 chipset, which seems to be confirmed working in several posts on here (see e.g. https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=81634.0)

I'm running 2.2.5 so hopefully no issues with USB 3.0 not being recognised at all.

I didn't mention - I had this issues on 2.2.2 64bit - I didn't try on newer versions.

i tested two of the dirt cheap cards that i bough for 1.5 USD each from local shop.
both work fine . few seconds after pluging them in pfsense box i was able to see them . .i assigned them manual ip .enabled dhcp on it and adjusted firewall and nat rules .. connected my pc .. was able to get ip and using iternet through it..
these are 10 Mbps ones .
i tried to gauge their throught put using iperf (from pc to pfsense box ) but i cannot make iperf to work on pfbox and i dont have multiple lan ssytems thorugh which i can check. -

does it supports vlans ?

The USB interface appears in the list of interfaces when attempting to create VLANs, so presumably it does support VLANs.
I haven't tested throughput, but haven't had any problems. It handles my 60Mbit fibre broadband ok.

I also had some problems at first with a USB NIC. Apple USB Ethernet Adapter for MacBook Air worked for me.
