Is it possible with Postfix Forwarder?
-
Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to forward all the sent emails using Postfix Forwarder package or is there another package that can do that?Currently the company uses godaddy domain with the workspace emails and they use pop because it saves the pst files while IMAP saves the sent on the server, but there is limited space. And on the godaddy workspace email I can forward all the inbox emails to another email no issue just the sent part cannot.
Thank you

From the description:
Postfix mail forwarder acts as a relay server for your domain.
It can do first and second line antispam combat before sending incoming mail to local mail servers. That sounds like exactly what you're asking for. Its entire job is to process mail and forward it to the real mailserver.

could it be possible from using this example of the diagram im attaching?
Thank you

While I haven't tried it, I don't see why not. The forwarder should be able to forward the mail to any valid host or IP address. You would have to change your MX record in public DNS to point to pfSense WAN (or VIP). Set up a small lab and try it but don't change your MX record; test directly against the forwarder with telnet or something.

Hi KOM,
Thank you for the reply, When you meanYou would have to change your MX record in public DNS to point to pfSense WAN (or VIP).
after testing it in a small lab I need to change the MX records from godaddy to my WAN?
because when you say
but don't change your MX record;
you mean first test it in a small lab?
Thank you

Yes, otherwise how are other mail servers supposed to know where to send the mail to? Right now your DNS MX record points to whatever is receiving your mail now, GoDaddy from the looks of it. If you put the Forwarder into production your MX record will have to change to reflect that your receivng mail server is now the forwarder at whatever host/IP address you give it.
you mean first test it in a small lab?
That's what I said. You have to play with it in a lab because to do it for real would mean taking your working mail system and breaking it. Not a good idea.
