I386 vs amd64 - any benefit on Pine Trail Atom (D525)?
-
I have an Intel Atom D525 based router box. It had pfSense 2.0.2 for i386 installed when I bought it. I've since upgraded to 2.0.3 through the web GUI auto-update without incident.
This particular CPU supports 64-bit instructions. On this hardware, is there any benefit to installing the amd64 version of pfSense? Could I do this installation through the web GUI, or would it require manual installation via the shell? Thanks.

Probably only if you have more than 3GB RAM.
