Intel 82583V : is it working?
-
For the FFTH prices, it can be up to 60€ / month. I discovered you can even get 800Mb or 1Gb.
You can get prices here for reference: http://www.zoneadsl.com/comparatif/offres-internet-fibre-optique.html
You have to look at the small monthly clost and not the big numbers as they are promotional attractive prices. Thanks for the information!

Which DDR3 module volatge do you use in these small boards?
I asked the seller that told me 1,5V, but after reading on the internet, it seems that 1,35V is generally preferable as the 1,35V module can also work at 1,5V and the manufacturer are selling the best quality ones as 1,35V.
It seems 1333Mhz RAM is 1,5V. -
Thanks Blue Kobold. I'll go for the first board, I'll add a 32Gb mSata SSD (with SLC cells), and 4GB DDR3 1,5V.
Which board exactly please, you were sending two links and me three?

I would tend more to go what he said!

I would more say a 1,5V can also run under 1,35V but mostly not vice versa!
and the manufacturer are selling the best quality ones as 1,35V.
If so then you could buy this ones also there, but if this RAM would then not be recognized, it will be
your money that is away!It seems 1333Mhz RAM is 1,5V.
And the other one, 1,35V I mean? You could also buy the board first and then the RAM
from a Notebook shop also, but then mostly you know really what kind RAM is supported! If you are able to hug up DDR3-1600MHz RAM it would be better and speeding up more your
pfSense box, if this is supported take it. -
I've bought his one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4-ethernet-ports-motherboard-J1900-fanless-J1900-2-5-HDD-inboard-BYPASS-supported-High-performance-Router/32421366325.html
The board is said to support up to 1333Mhz RAM: 1* DDR3 SODIMM,supports 1333/1066 MHz , Max. 8GB
I''ll buy a 4GB 1333Mhz 1,5V module. Probably a Kingston one (21€ on amazon) -

I think there are often papers or a manual on a CD in the carton from the board, and so you might be verify that
the RAM is matching the tech. specs. and you don´t must be twice. -
Intel website says the CPU memory type is DDR3L 1333.
You're right, it's best to check on the board manual! Maybe the low voltage will work, as per Intel website! When I'll get it up and running I'll post a new thread to give the capatibility results!

Hi
I received the board a few days ago, and it looks great. Quality is top.
In the box, no user manual, no spec, but a VGA adapter cable, sata cable (with lock) and sata power supply, and also a small metal adapter to allow a sata disk to be mounted directly onboard.
I bought a 1,5V DDR3 1333Mhz RAM as recommended by the seller. In the BIOS, I can see the RAM is supplied around 1,35V so I could have bought a DDR3L module, but works fine with my 4GB Kingtson (tested with MemTest86).I tried installing pfsense on an old sata disk for testing while waiting for my msata SLC SSD. Everything works fine out of the box :-)
I tried using a Wifi mini-pci module to turn it into an AP ; an Intel 4965AGN and a Ralink RT5390BC8, but can't get them to be recognized (event not listed in pciconf, module was already loaded into kernel). Don't know if the problem is card compatibility or BIOS configuration. Are these cards working?
When I'll get my system installed I'll do a short review for future buyers :-)

This both cards are 100% sure working together with pfSense:
- Compex WLE200NX a/b/g/n ~30 €
- UBNT SR71-E a/b/g/n ~50 €
-
Thanks BlueKobold.
Will the Compex card allow for AP creation with wifi output power management?
I'm using an old WRT54GL for the only purpose of limiting wifi power to about 5mw. -

I don´t know this exactly.I'm using an old WRT54GL for the only purpose of limiting wifi power to about 5mw.
And where you doing it for that card? The regulation I mean? inside pfSense settings? Than it could
be that you will have luck. -
WRT54GL is a Linksys rooter which can run linux. If works with Tomato, OpenWrt, and DD-WRT firmware:
http://www.linksys.com/us/p/P-WRT54GL/I've on the Wifi forum that power management is mostly never working, even if the option is available, so I'll stick with my Linksys AP.
