      Hi Guys,

Recently bought ASRock Q1900M quad core motherboard and an intel I340-T2 dual port card.

However, Asrock board only has PCIE 2.0 x1 lan, and I340-T2 requires x4 as I believe.

Will this bottleneck the performence? or should I swap to another board?

      Thanks.

Maybe it will be a bottleneck. Try it out and do some speed tests.

If the x4 card works in x1 slot (it should), there should be enough bandwidth.  A PCIe 2.0 x 1 slot should be good for about 4Gbps each way (after overhead - actually good for 5 gigatransfers each way minus about 20% or so for overhead).  That should be good enough to easily power that card's bandwidth requirement.

I have the ASRock J1900 with a dual intel nic (x2 PCI)  and w/ careful trimming of the back of the x1 slot have had it working just fine for nearly 1 year.
