Assign a 2e eth to wan (no dual wan)
-
Hello
To get my cable digibox up and running (Telenet a Belgium ISP) the digibox need to connected direct on the cable modem (1 eth port model)
note the cable modem is a modem only no router/ wifi / no NAT inside so i get the pub ip direct on my Pfsense
The Digibox request a DHCP adres and get another "private" ip from the cable ISP based on the MAC of de DigiboxThis is a "working" solution only the switch i want to "integrate" in the pfsense by assign a 2e eth to the wan
Cable modem > switch > Digibox
> Pfsense > Networkthe prefer solution
Cabe modem > Pfsense > Digibox
> NetworkAny hints ?

i've been wondering if its receives a different ip based on mac OR if the digibox is running on a seperate vlan. (or a mac-based vlan)

Hi,
Did you ever found a solution?
i'm in a similar situation. But no change to keep the digicorder before the pfsense.
There are 2 mac address 1 for the internal network 192.168.x.x and 1 for the telenet 10.x.x.x
But i don't know how to filter on only mac for passing through those packets. If it's even possible.Greetz Tiniduske
