Im about to take my 1st jump into open source linux firewalls as a project mostly because i have to many old computers laying around. I also have a really outdated linksys router.

      My question is.

      1. Does PFsense support IPV6 on the WAN side

      2. Does PFsense hand out IPV6 DHCP addresses

I'm looking to create a router box that will be able to last for a while and since I'm getting a IPV6 address on my Time Warner Router it would be nice to have access to this.

        1 yes
2 yes if you set it up to.

pfsense has full support for ipv6 in multiple setups.

should be as simple as setting dhcp on your wan for ipv6, and then track on your lan… But without a static on your lan side for ipv6 it becomes harder to serve up dhcpv6.

Can you requests a specific /56 or /48 from your isp, then you can setup whatever /64's you want on your internal networks.

BTW, there is a dedicated IPv6 forum.
