      Hello,

Info on the web site indicates that these devices can run Snort, Suricata and a number of other add-on packages. PfSense recommends using the Nano version on embedded systems which doesn't support many of the add-on packages. So, does the special PfSense verson for the RCC-VE 2440 / SG-2440 allow loading packages normally prohibited by the Nano version? If so I assume that PfSense is loaded onto the onboard Flash, and add-ons use the mSATA SSD. Is this correct? Last question. What would be the expected SSD lifetime with one or more of the packages installed on the box?

      Thank you.

We don't consider SSDs (mSATA or otherwise) or eMMC as "embedded filesystems" in the traditional sense. They are high quality current-tier disks and don't suffer from the classic limits of flash media like CF or SD cards.

They get full installations and can run any packages, assuming they don't eat up all the disk space and RAM of course.
