Due to a mistake i made (entered cdirs as hosts, so the cdirs got expanded to all available hosts inside that cdir) i found an error:

I can add 5000 entries (hosts) inside an alias - says my pfsense. With 4096 that works.
Now inside an alias i had 4096 hosts, later inside another alias 765 hosts.
      So far so good.

Now i wanted to rename the first alias to another name, and editing the second alias the same happened here when i tried to save my changes: I got the following error:

Warning: Unknown: Input variables exceeded 1000\. To increase the limit change max_input_vars in php.ini. in Unknown on line 0 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/csrf/csrf-magic.php on line 351 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 48 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 49 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 50 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 51 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 52 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/guiconfig.inc on line 55 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in /usr/local/www/firewall_aliases_edit.php on line 485

On opening the aliases to check them i found out that both aliases only contained 750hosts, the rest disappeared. Any further editing results in the same error.

I checked this 2 more times and always get the same result. Any hints??? Or should i open it on redmine?

I'm trying to add an alias with all currently known ads hosts, it is a 13590 lines long file.
I usually put it into /etc/hosts and works flawlessly but adding it as an alias in pfsense web admin gives problems.
I can add it but as I edit it I get a blank page and then a crash report when I reload asking me to submit the following:

Crash report begins.  Anonymous machine information:

          amd64

tried editing php.ini and increasing memory to no avail, /usr/local/www/csrf/csrf-magic.php doesn't exist.

You don't want to use a network or host alias for that many entries. In 2.3, you can go up to 5000 members. Anything beyond that has to be a URL table alias, and likely anything beyond 1000 really should be as well.
