I've got a Jetway J7F41G5D motherboard and right now I'm working with pfSense 1.0.1 embedded which I'm booting from a 1GB Kingston CF Card plugged into an ATA reader from mini-box.com (CF-200).  I had to turn off DMA to get the bios to recognize the reader, but that's not the only problem I've had.  Right now, I can't get four of my ten Jetway systems to boot properly…

if I type reboot, I don't get the apc-error, and the system reboots, back to the same "can't get /dev/console" message.  If I wait for the shell, I can type "exit" and the system moves on and seems to boot properly…

      Rebooting…

Obviously, something's not right, but I can't figure out what it is.  I bought ten J7F41G5Ds and ten M200 enclosures from mini-box.com, I also bought ten sticks of RAM and ten CF cards from newegg.  The enclosures have a "built-in" CF to ATA adapter that I've checked out in one of my six working units, I've also checked out the CF cards, the RAM, the power supplies and ATA cables and they all seem to be working.

I realize that this probably points to a problem with the motherboard, but I'm pretty sure that neither jetway nor mini-box are going to understand my problem when I ask them for help/rma.  If someone happens to know what the problem is, I'd appreciate the help.  If someone happens to know where I should look next for troubleshooting, I'd appreciate the help.

      Thanks.

You might check the bios revision numbers between a working unit and the other four units… also look very closely at the chips on the boards to make sure they are the same revision levels as well - otherwise you will have to go the RMA route.

        Just my thoughts...
